In Memory of Morten Gyllensten

Morten Reidar Gyllensten
Born 02.12.1957 – Passed Away 09.03.2025

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Morten Gyllensten. He leaves behind his beloved wife Nan, their children Eirik and Benedicte, as well as two grandchildren.

Morten was a dedicated and visionary leader in the industry. Together with his wife and their children, he was the owner of Haakon Ellingsen AS, a company founded by his father-in-law, Karl Fredrik Ellingsen, in 1962. Under Morten’s leadership, the company grew into a key player in valve control and instrumentation for offshore, maritime, and land-based industries. In parallel, he was also an active co-owner of several other companies within both industry and real estate.

In addition to his role at Haakon Ellingsen AS, Morten was a prominent figure in the business community, serving on the boards of numerous companies – both as a member and as chairman. His professional expertise, strategic abilities, and dedication to the industry made him a respected and valued leader. Morten had great trust in the people around him and combined goal-oriented leadership with a listening approach. He was genuinely concerned with well-being, inclusion, and good working conditions.

Outside of his professional life, Morten was an outdoor enthusiast and adventurer. Together with Nan, he traveled the world and experienced countless adventures. He was an avid cyclist and skier, participated multiple times in the Skarverennet race, and even climbed Kilimanjaro. His passion for cars remained strong throughout his life, which he indulged in through track driving in Germany and as a proud Porsche owner in everyday life.

Morten will be deeply missed, but his values, dedication, and memories will live on.
